Forever Electromechanical has completed factory acceptance testing and shipment of a complete grinding steel ball production line to an overseas customer specializing in mining wear-resistant materials. The integrated line covers automatic billet feeding, IGBT induction heating, skew rolling forming, quenching, tempering and finished product sorting, forming a one-stop manufacturing system for forged grinding balls. The client required stable output, consistent hardness and low breakage rate for ore grinding operations. Our engineering team adjusted rolling moulds, heating coil layout and heat treatment parameters according to local raw material conditions and target ball sizes, ensuring the whole workflow matches the customer’s factory layout and hourly capacity plan. All equipment passed continuous running inspection before packaging, complying with international export standards for cross-border delivery.

IGBT Induction Heating Core Ensures Stable Metallographic Performance

Induction heating serves as the core module of this grinding ball induction heating machine. Equipped with self-developed IGBT medium-frequency power supply, the system delivers fast, uniform and low-oxidation heating for steel billets before rolling. Multi-point infrared temperature sensors link with PLC closed-loop control to maintain a stable heating window, avoiding uneven internal and external temperature that causes cracking after forming. After skew rolling, newly formed steel balls enter the segmented spray quenching station immediately. The follow-up continuous tempering process releases internal stress, balances surface hardness and core toughness. Finished grinding balls gain uniform microstructure, high wear resistance and low fragmentation rate, which directly reduces media consumption in ball mill grinding circuits. Compared with traditional gas heating solutions, the induction mode cuts heat loss and reduces surface decarburization effectively.

Automated Workflow Reduces Manual Intervention

The production line adopts fully linked automatic conveying and sorting structure. Raw steel bars are fed automatically, and finished balls are sorted by size after heat treatment. Operators only monitor running status, adjust process recipes on the touch screen and perform routine maintenance. Recipe storage function supports fast switching of different ball specifications, shortening changeover time for mixed production. Multiple safety protection modules including over-temperature, water shortage, overload and interlock shutdown are built into the control system. It effectively protects power units, coils and rolling hosts under long-shift continuous operation, lowering downtime risks for the customer’s mass production schedule. The compact modular design also saves floor space inside the workshop.

As a clean thermal processing method, induction heating eliminates flue gas and combustion waste generated by fuel furnaces. It helps the overseas customer meet increasingly strict local environmental regulations for industrial manufacturing.
