Full Closed-Loop Workflow from Raw Bar to Finished Steel Ball

Different from fragmented standalone machines, this integrated line realizes seamless material transfer across every stage. Raw steel bars are automatically cut and conveyed into twin parallel induction heating furnaces. The IGBT heating power supply ensures uniform through-heating for billets before skew rolling. After rolling and shaping, hot steel balls directly enter the continuous heat treatment module, completing quenching and low-temperature tempering in sequence. The whole workflow avoids temperature fluctuation caused by repeated material handling. PLC and HMI touch screen synchronously monitor feeding speed, heating temperature, quenching flow and tempering holding time. Operators can save multiple process recipes for different steel grades and ball diameters, from small 20mm balls up to 120mm large grinding balls.

Heat Treatment Module: Core for Consistent Wear Resistance

The built-in heat treatment unit is the key upgrade of this production line. Precise quenching controls cooling speed to form dense martensite structure, while subsequent tempering removes internal quenching stress. This balanced process prevents steel balls from brittle fracture under repeated impact. Hardness can be steadily maintained within HRC55–65 with small deviation batch by batch. Compared with lines without integrated heat treatment, finished products feature better roundness, lower oxidation scale and fewer surface defects. The system adopts real-time infrared temperature tracking, automatically adjusting parameters once temperature drift appears, greatly cutting reject rates and raw material waste.
