Furnace Body Upgrade Empowers High-Efficiency Production of Steel Ball Hot Rolling Making Machine

Recently, a comprehensive technical upgrade and transformation has been completed for the core furnace body of the steel ball forging production line, marking a new breakthrough in the intelligent, energy-saving and high-precision production of hot-rolled steel balls. This targeted furnace body upgrade focuses on the long-standing pain points of traditional heating furnaces, including uneven heating, high energy consumption, severe oxidation loss and low operational stability, effectively solving multiple bottlenecks restricting the quality and output of wear-resistant steel ball products.

As the core thermal processing component of the steel ball hot rolling heating machine, the furnace body’s structural design, heating mode and temperature control accuracy directly determine the roundness, surface finish and mechanical properties of finished steel balls. The traditional steel ball hot rolling furnace adopts a fixed integral heating structure, which is prone to local overheating or insufficient heating during continuous production. This not only causes inconsistent hardness and residual internal stress of steel balls, reducing product wear resistance and service life, but also leads to excessive energy consumption and frequent equipment maintenance, increasing overall production costs for manufacturing enterprises.

This upgraded furnace body adopts an optimized modular segmented induction heating structure, abandoning the traditional integral heating mode. Equipped with a new generation of IGBT medium-frequency induction heating system and infrared real-time temperature detection module, it realizes full-circle synchronous and uniform heating of steel ball blanks. The temperature control accuracy is upgraded to ±1°C, which completely eliminates product quality defects caused by temperature deviation. Meanwhile, the furnace body lining is made of high-temperature resistant and heat-insulating composite refractory materials, which greatly reduces heat dissipation loss and improves thermal utilization efficiency.

In terms of structural optimization, the upgraded furnace body adds an adjustable heating interval and automatic heat dissipation protection device. It can dynamically calibrate the heating temperature and holding time according to different steel ball specifications and raw material properties, realizing flexible switching of multi-specification production. The optimized furnace cavity structure effectively reduces the contact area between high-temperature blanks and air, minimizes surface oxidation and decarburization, and improves the yield of finished products by a large margin. In addition, the modular assembly design simplifies daily maintenance and replacement of vulnerable parts, shortening equipment downtime and improving continuous production capacity.

After actual production verification, the upgraded steel ball forging production line furnace body increases overall heating efficiency by 32%, reduces unit energy consumption by more than 28%, and cuts steel blank oxidation loss by over 40%. The dimensional accuracy and mechanical stability of hot-rolled steel balls are significantly improved, fully meeting the high-standard production requirements of wear-resistant steel balls for mining, metallurgy, building materials and other industries. Moreover, the intelligent temperature control system reduces manual intervention, realizes automated and standardized heating production, and greatly improves production consistency and stability.
