1. News Highlights
A standard 750kW pipe induction hardening furnace has been officially commissioned at a professional construction machinery forging plant. This medium-frequency induction heating equipment is specially developed for medium and large-sized pipe forgings used in engineering machinery, including hydraulic pipes, structural connecting pipes and thick-wall mechanical pipe parts. The production line integrates automatic feeding, induction rapid heating, precise quenching and continuous discharging. It is widely applied for forging preheating and surface hardening treatment of alloy steel pipes, effectively solving low efficiency and unstable heating quality in traditional forging heating processes.

2. Project Demand & Solution
Construction machinery pipe forgings require high mechanical strength, pressure resistance and torsion resistance under complex working conditions. Most traditional forging factories still adopt coal furnaces or gas heating furnaces, which bring many drawbacks: slow heating speed, thick oxide scale, uneven temperature distribution and large energy consumption. In addition, it is difficult to control the heating depth for thick-wall pipes, resulting in inconsistent hardness and poor product qualification rate.
To meet mass production requirements of engineering pipe forgings, the manufacturer customized this 750kW intermediate frequency induction hardening furnace. With optimized IGBT power module and adjustable induction coil structure, the equipment achieves fast and uniform heating for pipe workpieces. It is perfectly suitable for medium-sized forging enterprises and realizes low-cost, high-stability thermal processing for mechanical pipe components.

4. Equipment Structural Composition
This 750kW pipe induction hardening production line consists of independent power cabinet, resonant transformer, adjustable induction heating coil, automatic feeding rack, circulating cooling system and PLC intelligent control system. The heating coil can be manually and electrically adjusted according to pipe diameter and heating length, realizing flexible switching of different workpiece specifications. The whole line adopts closed circulation water cooling design, which greatly reduces water consumption and meets industrial environmental emission standards.
5. Operation Performance in Forging Production
5.1 Uniform Heating & Stable Hardness
Adopting eddy current induction heating principle, the pipe wall is heated evenly from inside to outside without local overheating. After quenching, the surface hardness of pipe forgings reaches 46–54 HRC with small hardness deviation. The internal metallographic structure is compact and uniform, effectively improving torsion resistance and wear resistance for engineering machinery pipes.
5.2 Low Oxidation & Clean Surface
Compared with traditional flame heating, the induction heating cycle is short without long-time high-temperature exposure. The oxide scale generation rate is reduced by more than 70%, and the pipe surface remains smooth without obvious burning loss. It reduces raw material waste and post-processing polishing procedures.
5.3 Moderate Power & Lower Operating Cost
As a mature medium-power model, the 750kW induction furnace balances production capacity and energy consumption. The power saving rate is up to 35% compared with gas furnaces. The intelligent power distribution system automatically reduces idle power consumption during workpiece replacement, which is more suitable for continuous batch production of medium-sized forgings.
5.4 Simple Maintenance & High Safety
The equipment is equipped with overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating protection functions. The modular structure makes daily maintenance easier. The fully enclosed heating area isolates high-temperature radiation, greatly improving the working safety of forging workshop.

6. Application Prospect
With the continuous upgrading of construction machinery accessory standards, high-precision and low-consumption induction heating equipment will gradually replace traditional thermal processing furnaces. This 750kW pipe induction hardening furnace is highly adaptable to various engineering pipe forgings, and can be widely used in excavator accessories, crane pipeline parts, hydraulic system steel pipes and other industries. The manufacturer will continue to optimize the automatic loading and unloading system to further improve production efficiency for forging enterprises.
